As the world stumbles into a new decade, we at the Harp Surgery find ourselves contemplating the future. But we’re not thinking about jetpacks or three-course meals that you can take as a pill. No, we’re thinking about the future of the harmonica. Okay, jetpacks would also be pretty cool, but for his debut podcast, Elwood the Apprentice mumbles his way through five young players who are poised to become rising stars of the harmonica.

Hi, Elwood
First time here – found the site thanks to a post on Adam’s MBH forum. Nice stuff. I like the podcast – great to hear these guys (I’ve been fortunate to meet Jay, Nic and Brandon at SPAH) – and great that you took the time to feature them! Can’t wait to hear what’s next.

Found this from the boingboing post … lots of fun!
“Elwood’s first podcast is a little ragged…”
Hardly.
I’m looking for the others. Why aren’t they done yet?
–Bob.
🙂
Hey Bob, thanks for the kind words. I’ve managed to upgrade the audio a bit with a new mic, and you can hear it at the not-quite-a-podcast entry, interview with Christelle Berthon, harmonica queen of YouTube.
Hi,
do you have melodies or tones for the harmonica from the movie “once upon a time in the west” from 1968.
I am also interested in any other melodies. I am a beginer who want to learn how to play harmonica.
With kind regards,
Mišo Mlakić from Croatia
Hi Mišo
Thanks for your message. From memory the harmonica featured in the Movie is a draw bend somewhere around hole 4 or 6. We will look into it and let you know. There is plenty of material for beginners on the internet in English, but probably not too much in Croat. It might be better for you to find someone local who teaches harmonica? Again we’ll see what we can find out.
